October 15, 2012 — From winter boots, back to sandals. Fluctuating temperatures left some Ontarians unsure how to dress for the weather this weekend.

It was a chilly start to the weekend on Saturday with several places waking up to temperatures below the freezing mark.

By the afternoon hours on Saturday however, a warm front helped temperatures to climb once again.

"The system also brought some unsettled weather to the region," says Gerald Cheng, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.

Between 20-40 mm fell through the weekend with wind gusts up to 80 km/h recorded as well.

Power crews in Toronto were busy clearing downed trees and power lines early Monday morning after damaging winds hit the area.

"Wind gusts between 60-85 km/h will continue across the Greater Toronto Area on Monday, before easing through the evening and overnight hours," notes Cheng.
