Officials say people living near rivers and streams may see a noticeable increase in water levels in New Brunswick this week.

According to River Watch, warming temperatures over the next couple of days could result in possible flooding.

Residents are being urged to avoid the water as currents are strong and may carry debris.

Boaters and kayakers should also avoid any water activities at this time of year.

A new flood monitoring system has been implemented in the province after last year's devastating flood in the Perth-Andover area.
