The Travelers Network website and app feature real-time information on traffic flow, road closures, transit and flight delays.
There is no question that Canadians lead busier lives than ever before.
From accomplishing errands to driving children to hockey practice, “life on demand” can become overwhelming and lead to a feeling of constant stress on the roads.
Pelmorex Media Inc., parent company to The Weather Network, has launched Travelers Network, their next foray into dominating the traveler information services landscape.
The ultimate goal is to get commuters from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible whether around the corner or around the world.
The Travelers Network’s website and app, will provide information for trip planning with an added twist.
It will churn out real-time information on traffic flow, road closures, transit and flight delays; giving directions on how to avoid these commuting nightmares.
Using hundreds of data sources, combined with in-house reporting teams, it promises to monitor everything from icy road conditions in the Yukon, to flight delays in the Yucatan.
The engineering and content team worked with such partners as Microsoft, Google, Akamai, ESRi and Inrix to build a world class service and assemble one of the most comprehensive data and routing platforms in the world.
Much like The Weather Network’s forecasting process where computer-generated models are half the equation, Travelers Network will also have traffic desks across North America to review, validate, and update data, along with producing up-to-date video reports.
Travelers Network provides a more personalized service which will be available across Canada in both official languages.
The app is available to download here
