On August 15, 1997, a tornado ripped through Grey County in Ontario, tearing apart farms and houses.
Williams Lake was hit especially hard. The tornado destroyed trees, flipped boats and damaged homes and cottages.
Miraculously, two men survived when the cottage they were in was picked up and thrown into the lake.
It was the second tornado to hit Williams Lake in 15 months.
On April 20, 1996, an F3 tornado struck the same place. One of two F3's to strike the province that day.
