Top 10 Videos of the Week

Jill Colton, staff writer

August 6, 2010 — You already saw #'s 10 through 6. Now, click the video on the left for a look at this week's top 5 weather videos ... including #1!

We get a lot of footage each week here at The Weather Network, so we decided to share our favourites with you today. Here is our top ten list of the weather videos that had people talking in Canada and around the world this week.

  • #5 -- Cooling off in Chiba, Japan. The world's most noble creatures take a dip with human friends.
  • #4 -- Smog alert in Moscow, Russia. There has been some sweltering heat steaming Russia lately. Check out the soupy pollution resting over the city.
  • #3 -- Good news for the Gulf of Mexico! Looks like the cap and the static kill are working for the ruptured oil well that's been spitting crude into the sea for over 100 days. Hallelujah!
  • #2 -- Storm in Ottawa, Ontario. This severe system brought slicing rains and damaging winds to the capital -- the result? Massive flooding to roads, basements and businesses.
  • And finally, #1 -- Boom goes Quebec City, Quebec. Thunderstorms were certainly making themselves heard earlier this week. Those are some serious rumbles, it looks like they shook the building they were so intense!

Make sure you tune into The Weather Network on TV next Friday morning for a look at our picks for the top videos.
