The first significant snowfall of the season has hit Alberta.
About 5 cm of powder hit Calgary roads Wednesday night, and that translated into icy conditions, reduced visibility and traffic delays Thursday morning.
By 9 a.m., police had responded to 7 injury and 33 non-injury collisions -- almost two and a half times more than last Thursday.
You can save yourself a lot of potential headaches by giving yourself extra time to commute when there's snow on the ground, and by driving according to the road conditions.
And don't forget to brush the snow and ice off your car.
