It's not unusual for southern BC to experience mild weather at this time of year, but on Tuesday, White Rock saw temperatures climb to 17.3 degrees. It was just .1 degree shy of the daily record, but was still the hot spot of the entire country.
"And what's more impressive is the same temperature was recorded at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Tuesday," says Brian Dillon, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.
"Southwesterly winds from the area around Hawaii have been sweeping into southern BC bringing this mild air and sunshine."
A system pushing into the region on Wednesday however, is set to bring rain showers for the remainder of the week.
"Temperatures will also cool slightly, but will still be hovering around 8-10 degrees, which is seasonal for this time," says Dillon.
