Canadian men let their 'Mo' grow

Staff writers
November 20, 2012 — It's that time of year when thousands of men unite to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men's health. Even The Weather Network's own Nathan Coleman is supporting this year's Movember.

The days are starting to get colder and Canadian men are growing a new moustache to help keep them warm.

It's all part of Movember, that time of year when men give their razors a break and let their "mo" grow.

The annual event helps to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men's health.

At Your Father's Moustache in Halifax, a team of 32 men are growing strong.

"We've had servers volunteer to work a shift and all the tips go towards the cause," says General Manager, Shane Robilliard.

After raising $8,000 last year, they're on track to $10,000 this month. One server raised $340 in a six hour shift.

"He had to paint the moustache on in order for people to know that he was growing a moustache because as he puts it, it's his 11 month blessing in his one month curse," laughed Robilliard.
