Tornado warnings, watches and severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were in place throughout Saskatchewan Wednesday.

Environment Canada confirmed that at least three tornadoes touched down. One near Rose Valley and two more northeast of Wadena.

Photos of ominous looking skies flooded The Weather Network's newsroom. Torrential downpours and strong winds were also reported by viewers on our Stormline, Facebook and Twitter.

Storms also rumbled through Alberta earlier in the day Wednesday. Ominous-looking clouds were spotted around Lacombe, and ping pong-sized hail came crashing to the ground in Drayton Valley.

The city of Edmonton was also under a severe thunderstorm warning at one point.
