Hundreds of people in southern Spain have been evacuated after heavy rain began wreaking havoc early Friday morning.
In the hardest hit town of Alora, officials say at least one elderly woman was killed.
Rescue workers are searching to determine if there are any more victims.
Rivers have overflowed their banks, inundating roads and sweeping away cars across the region.
Homes have been swamped with flood waters as well and residents are working to clear muddy debris.
