Dog helped save missing child in frigid weather
The toddler, named Julia, went missing on Friday and was found lying in a freezing marsh several kilometres from her house Saturday morning.
When officials discovered the child, they found a small dog cuddled up next to her.
Firefighter, Grzegorz Szymanski, told local media that the dog had stayed with the child overnight, keeping her warm in minus five temperatures -- adding that "the animal was the most important factor in the girl's survival."
It is believed that the little girl spent hours wandering through a forest near her home in Pierzwin.
Julia was taken to hospital for frostbite following a search by 200 people.
