A farming region in northern Icleand was hit with close to 200 cm of snow last month.

Many farmers were faced with extensive property damage and several report losing their losing livestock as well.

After scouring the Skagafjorour region for signs of life, search and rescue crews say many sheep across the farmland had been killed.

On Saturday however, a team with a search dog managed to find a sheep that was still alive.

They say it had travelled a great distance to try and escape the snow and managed to survive after being buried for close to three weeks.
