Environment Canada confirms that five twisters touched down briefly in rural areas on Tuesday.

Meteorologist Louis Kohanyi says they included two separate tornadoes near Balgonie, and others near Southey, Fillmore and Grenfell.

There is no official word on the strength of the twisters.

There were no injuries but people are reporting damage to farm buildings.
