Gull Lake tornado anniversary

August 5, 2012 — On August 5, 2006 a F-2 tornado struck Gull Lake, Manitoba.

Over twenty trailers were destroyed, one person was killed and a dozen injured in the Gull Lake tornado.

It was the first tornado-caused fatality in the province since 1977, when a F-4 tornado killed three people in Rosa on July 18th.

On June 30, 1922, a tornado killed five people in Portage La Prairie.
