April 5, 2013 — Parts of southern and central Mexico were rattled by a 5.4 magnitude earthquake on Thursday.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centred in the southern state of Guerrero, about 81 km northwest of the resort of Acapulco.

The quake was felt slightly in Mexico City late Thursday. Witnesses reported buildings shaking.

Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera wrote in his twitter account that there were no immediate reports of damages.
