March 27, 2010 — The skies are clear, the sun is shining and temperatures have jumped back up to seasonal in southern Ontario.
After a Friday that felt more like January in some parts of Ontario, today is looking and feeling a little more normal across the province.
The sun is shining in Toronto, and we're calling for a high of six degrees this afternoon. That's actually seasonal for this time of year. But if you're looking to head out to a park, the waterfront or maybe even a barbecue, you still may want to bring your winter jacket.
Still, it won't feel as cold as yesterday. A sharp cold front swept across the province, sending temperatures plummeting into the minus single digits. Factor in the windchills, and it was feeling into the minus teens.
Just one week earlier, people in the Greater Toronto area were enjoying temperatures in the high teens. It's just one example of why forecasters often refer to the season as a 'meteorological roller coaster.'
