- #2 -- Snow-like hail pelts Fort McMurray, Alberta. No, that's not snow, it's hail! Fierce thunderstorms trigger crashing hail in the northern Alberta city.
- And, finally #1 --Hurricane Earl seizes Nagua, Dominican Republic. Earl is sweeping the Eastern Seaboard, but earlier this week, it whipped through the Caribbean island, triggering massive storm surges and waves.
