Running from February 7th to 11th, at BC Place and Granville Island Maritime Market and Marina, the Vancouver International Boat Show features the province's largest display of boats, engines, electronics, marine gifts and accessories.
Both experienced and novice boaters recently spent the day strolling through Granville Island Marina, where guests were greeted with mild temperatures.
"Ideal weather really for a boater, to tell you the truth?" said Vancouver International Boat Show official, Linda Waddell. "Any weather! If you’re a passionate boater about the lifestyle, you’re gonna come out if it’s raining, if it’s sunny, but having an outdoor venue, a little bit overcast and not too much rain that’s ideal for most attendees, but we get ‘em in all kinds of weather.”
Because Vancouver is a coastal City, there is an abundance of resources for boaters. The city offers some of the country’s best boating facilities and has one of the largest boating markets.
For those who've admired the boating lifestyle, but have yet to take the next step, the Vancouver Boat Show is the just the place to start.
“The industry has an incredible program called the Discover Boating Center and we have one located at BC Place and here at Granville Island," adds Waddell. "It’s a place where you can come and talk to boaters, they’re not sales people you’re in an unbiased environment, to understand all about the lifestyle to learn about the differences in power boating or sailing or kayaking and help you determine what’s going to be best suited for your family.”
From fishing to cruising and family fun, there are boats for every lifestyle, activity and budget.
