October 27, 2012 — A powerful storm has slammed the Philippines -- causing floods and airport cancellations.

At least six people were killed and nine reported missing on Friday after a powerful tropical storm slammed the Philippines.

The system is now making its way towards Vietnam and southern China.

According to local media, the weather caused significant transportation delays. More than 30,000 people were left stranded at several ports or airports due to flooding.

The tropical storm, named Son-Tinh, hit the region on Wednesday.
