March 10, 2012 — An earthquake at 4.9 magnitude rattled parts of Jamaica early Saturday morning.

A 4.9 magnitude earthquake hit parts of Jamaica at 3:34 am early Saturday morning. Its epicentre was 140 km away from the capital city of Kingston. 

Residents living in places like Portmore, Spanish Town, St. Andrew and Kingston reportedly felt some mild shaking.  

So far, no injuries or damages have been reported. 

The news of the earthquake comes as Japan commemorates its one-year anniversary of the deadly earthquake and tsunami that devastated parts of the country.
