It could be a stormy Thursday overnight into Friday for anyone living in southwestern Ontario.

A low pressure system is sweeping across northern Ontario. The cold front associated with that low could spark some thunderstorms in the southern section of the province, with the potential for severe weather in some cases.

"Any storms in the Greater Toronto Area will likely occur overnight into Friday," says Elena Lappo, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.

With severe thunderstorms comes the risk of heavy downpours, strong winds and possible hail.
