June 7, 2012 — Severe thunderstorms hit western Australia on Thursday, spawning at least one tornado in the Perth area.

A tornado has ripped through Perth, Australia's north-east, causing widespread damage.
The twister touched down in only two suburbs, Dianella and Morley, but damaged dozens of businesses and homes.
Massive trees were uprooted and strong winds sent powerlines crashing to the ground.
The tornado arrived on the back of a storm front. There were no reports of serious injuries.
