Weather History: a 30°C Thanksgiving
October 2, 2012 — As we move into the Thanksgiving weekend, we take a look back at one of the most recent memorable holiday weekends weather-wise.
Thanksgiving was scorching in southern Ontario in 2007
It wasn't just the turkeys that were roasting on Thanksgiving weekend of 2007.
Southern Ontario basked in temperatures well above seasonal, prompting some people to head to the beach.
Toronto reached a high of 31.6°C on October 8 - the city's warmest October day on record. Record highs were also set in Windsor, Sarnia and Hamilton - just to name a few.
The warmth was sadly limited to just the southern part of the province. Ottawa only reached a high of 14°C that same day.
