Heavy Rain Risk for South BC

October 17, 2008 — A strong frontal system is bringing rain, heavy at times, to BC's South Coast and Vancouver Island.

Rain began falling Thursday night with more than 35mm falling in parts of Metro Vancouver. West Vancouver Island saw almost 60mm rain during the same period.
This second wave of precipitation could bring another 30 to 40mm before the rain ends later this afternoon. In total, parts of North Vancouver and West Vancouver Island could receive over 80mm by Friday night.
