Fog Plays A Factor In Manitoba Bus Crash

March 4, 2010 — A school bus was involved in a collision after it turned on a foggy highway Wednesday morning.

Thankfully, none of the 13 children on board or the male bus driver were injured but all were taken to hospital.

The accident happened just north of Neepawa, Manitoba after a car crashed into the side of the bus before 8:39 a.m.

The 50 year old woman driving the car was also taken to hospital, her condition is not known at the present time.

Police said the bus was stopped at a stop sign in the eastbound lane. As it turned onto the highway, it was struck by the woman's northbound vehicle. No charges have been laid yet.

Manitoba has seen an usual amount of fog since the beginning of the week. Weather Network Meteorologist Gerald Chang says that, 'all the fog can be attributed to the mild air coming in over a cold surface like the ground.'
