Buses Cancelled In Chatham-Kent

February 22, 2010 — School buses have been cancelled in Essex County because of the winter storm hitting the province.

A winter storm warning has been issued for southwestern Ontario. Wet snow and freezing rain is blanketing roads and making the morning commute a very slow and slippery one.
Windsor has seen 5 centimetres of snow already and around 15 is expected by the time all is said and done.
Buses ARE still running in Windsor, but have been cancelled in Chatham- Kent.
All buses are cancelled for the English Catholic and public school boards. Buses serving the French Catholic board as well as Chatham and Wallaceburg Christian schools are cancelled as well.
Despite buses being cancelled most schools remain OPEN.
St. Michael's in Turnerville and Walpole Island Elementary are the only schools that have been reported as closed.
