More than 120,000 people have already been forced from their homes.
The province of Hunan, in central China has seen the most damage. More than 2000 building were destroyed and 10,000 others were damaged by the rushing waters.
The Xiangjiang river runs along side the provincial capital, Changsha. Its levels are rising and that is making many people nervous that the water could overflow the river banks.
In the Jiangxi province, streets flooded. One school was partially destroyed when mud and rock slide crashed through a wall. At least 65,000 children have been told not to attend school because of the extreme weather.
Heavy rain storms have been pounding China for most of May. About 100 people have been killed during that time.
More rain is forecast for the rest of the weekend.
