Arctic cold air is sitting over much of the Prairies. With the jet stream far to the south, cold air from the north has pushed its way into the Prairies all week and the pattern does not appear to be changing.
Alberta and Saskatchewan will see a mix of sun and cloud with no precipitation in the forecast. Southern Manitoba could see light flurries this afternoon but with not significant accumulation.
Looking ahead, the Prairies will get even colder for Saturday and Sunday and will not see a significant improvement in the temperatures until the middle of next week.
Warnings are in effect across the region.
