October 25, 2010 — It's been a stormy few days on the coast of BC, and there's still more rain on the way.

Keep that umbrella handy. You'll be needing it at least one more day if you're in Vancouver.

A parade of Pacific lows have been soaking the city since late last week. Watches and warnings have been in effect for much of the coast.

“We're looking at yet another round of heavy rain Monday and into Tuesday,” says Dayna Vettese, a meteorologist at The Weather Network. “Vancouver proper could get soaked with another 50 mm by the time all is said and done.”

Up to 15 mm of additional rainfall is possible in the Interior, and up to 30 mm could fall in the Fraser Valley. Thousands of acres of Fraser Valley potatoes and other vegetable crops have already been destroyed this year by the wet weather.

On the north and central coast, relentless rain has led to extreme flooding and mudslides. The community of Bella Coola is still trying to recover.
