October 30, 2010 — Magician Scott Hammell wishes he had a trick to influence the weather as he sleeps on the street for four nights.
He is working with Free The Children's Halloween For Hunger Initiative, which encourages kids to collect non-perishable items instead of candy for local food banks.
Hammell will live inside a plexiglass box for five days while asking Torontonians to donate enough canned goods to make him “disappear”.
“Weather is certainly going to be one of the biggest challenges,” he says.
He hopes to double last year's collection of 200,000 cans from 400 schools.
Hammell will be in his glass box outside Union Station in Toronto until October 31.
