Japan Buried In Snow

February 8, 2010 — The past three days have been wintry for the country, to say the least.

On Friday, over 80 centimetres of snow fell in northern and eastern Japan. If that wasn't enough already, another 70 centimetres fell in the region on Saturday.

That was certainly enough snow to cause an avalanche. It struck a popular ski resort and pushed a bus right through the hotel lobby.

Despite the dangerous conditions, many skiers were happy to see all the snow. The only problem was, they couldn't get to the ski hills.

Locals were too busy trying to shovel their way out from the storm that blanketed the area.
