Forget spring. For residents in Quebec, it's still looking and feeling a lot more like winter.
A powerful system pushed into the region on Tuesday, bringing upwards of 30 cm of snow to some parts of the province.
33 cm was reported in the City of Montreal, where around 1,000 snow clearing machines were deployed by the early morning hours Tuesday.
Officials encouraged motorists to use public transportation as they worked to keep the city streets clear.
The poor conditions prompted several school closures and bus cancellations right across the province, allowing several students to enjoy the final full day of winter.

Strong winds were also reported throughout the day, leading to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Some areas will continue to see lingering flurries on Wednesday, but overall the conditions will be improving.
It is all part of the same system that pushed into Ontario Monday, impacting the evening commute in some places.
Maritimers are also dealing with a late winter blast as the storm continues to track east.
