The storms that swept through parts of Ontario and southern Quebec on Friday killed one man in the Ottawa area.
18-year-old Joel Gauthier was struck by lightning and succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
Gauthier was out riding his bike with a friend when the storm moved through. He was struck by lightning after stopping under a tree to put on extra rain gear.
The young man went into cardiac arrest and was unconscious during transport to hospital. He later died in hospital.
The storm also knocked over trees and downed wires in the area.
