Students across the country are gearing up for March Break and several families plan to head down south. For those looking to stay a little closer to home however, ski resorts in British Columbia are also popular destinations.
Joffery J Koeman at Cypress Mountain says conditions are great for those hoping to hit the slopes. Fresh snow combined with milder spring-like temperatures in March give avid skiers some of the best conditions of the year.
"Conditions are as good as they get, kind of, up in the mountain. We've got all of our runs open, all of our lifts open."
Koeman adds that recent heavy snowfall has enabled the resort to operate in its full capacity.
"It's 400 cm now at mid-mountain, so that's the highest snow base we've had all season and it's looking really good."
Cypress Mountain opened in early November and officials expect the runs to remain open until late April at least.
"So it's going to be the longest season we've ever head at Cypress," says Koeman.
