An unsettled day for Newfoundland

The threat of volcanic ash heading for Newfoundland is back on the radar, but the rain the area has seen over the past few days is easing off. 40 mm fell in St John's yesterday.

It's been a soggy few days in Newfoundland. There has also been plenty of fog. But the low pressure system that soaked the region has pushed off and just a smattering of rain is expected throughout Wednesday.

Scattered showers could continue over the next couple of days, and it will be breezy on Saturday. But the winds should help push out the remaining rain clouds and by Sunday, the entire province should see clear skies.
