April 24, 2010 — April 24, 2010 - People in Mississauga, Ontario made great use of a pleasant Saturday by collecting trash and planting trees at Erindale Park.
Participants were invited to plant trees and shrubs that are native to the region. They also created “seed balls“ that will bloom into beautiful flowers in the summer months. Throughout the city, people took to their communities on Saturday to pick up litter and make the community more beautiful and healthy.
On Thursday -Earth Day - like minded people across the country and around the world also took time to collect garbage and think about ways to improve the environment.
While the sun shone on southern Ontario on Saturday, the bicycle may have to go back in the garage for a few days. Rain is forecast for much of southern Ontario until Monday morning.
