The Weather Network on Mobile just got better!


March 26, 2010 — The Weather Network is proud to announce the new functionalities and improved designs for its popular mobile website and WeatherEye Mobile for BlackBerry. The highly anticipated upgrades now give you an improved experience with easier navigation and more detailed weather and weather-related information while on the go.

Mobile Web Upgrade
The Weather Network’s re-designed mobile website is even better and features a cleaner layout.

New features and functionality include:

  • Easier navigation throughout the site
  • Ability to store multiple cities and toggle between them
  • Access to Satellite and Radar Maps, Flight Tracker, Traffic Flow and Traffic Cameras
  • Access to popular reports including the Flu Report, Pollen Report, UV Report, Air Quality and the Bug Report and access to seasonal activity information such as Ski and Golf Reports

The newly re-designed mobile website works on all WebKit-based phones including the iPhone, phones running the Google Android™ platform and the Palm Pre™. The new mobile website can be viewed from your WebKit-based phone at “theweathernetwork.com”.

WeatherEye for BlackBerry Upgrade
The Weather Network has launched an upgraded version of WeatherEye Mobile for BlackBerry based on feedback from users. The upgrades to the weather application make it cleaner in design and easier to navigate. Upgrades include:

  • A new look
  • Ability to add multiple cities
  • Access to radar maps and Hourly Forecasts
  • GPS locator with a FIND ME function instead of having to type in the city name
  • Operates on Wi-Fi networks so users do not have to rely on their data packages

This upgrade has been pushed to current users. For new users, visit the BlackBerry App World and search for “WeatherEye” to download it to your BlackBerry free of charge.
