Storm for Atlantic Canada

Laurissa Anyas-Weiss, content producer

January 30, 2009 — A major storm heading towards Atlantic Canada early next week looks as if it will miss Southern Ontario.

A low pressure system moving up along the Eastern Seaboard is currently tracking to hit Atlantic Canada late Monday possibly Tuesday.

It is too early to be certain but current indications are that this storm will be a snow and rain event for Atlantic Canada. Winds will be very strong around this system.

Speculation that the storm would track more westward into Eastern Quebec and Ontario appear to premature. In it's current track the system would miss Ontario entirely and most likely have little impact on Montreal. Quebec City and the Gaspe will see some snow but it is too early to say how much.

The storm track could change over the weekend so stay turned for updates.
