A slow moving storm kept parts of the Maritimes wet and windy this week.
Some communities saw more than 100 mm of rain, including Malay Falls, Nova Scotia. Shearwater and Kentville have recorded more than 80 mm of rain, while more than 70 mm has fallen at the Halifax International Airport.
Along with the rain, the winds were also strong along coastal areas. Especially along the northwestern shores of Nova Scotia.
Meteorologist Rob Davis explains when strong winds are blowing in the same direction for thousands of kilometres out to sea it starts to push water further inland.
The province of New Brunswick is currently dealing with a flood situation. River forecasters are keeping a close eye on water levels in the province after this week's rainfall.
