July 14, 2010 — Two celebrities are creating quite the buzz in P.E.I. The Weather Network's Shelley Steeves catches up with some 'star gazers.'
Talk about a boost in spirits.
Prince Edward Island is hopping thanks to celebrities Regis and Kelly. The duo has left New York and is broadcasting their show live from Charlottetown this week.
Like any outdoor event, there were several concerns about the weather. Luckily, Mother Nature has brought pleasant conditions for the performers, “but we were prepared for bad weather as well,” says Robert Vessey, P.E.I's Minister of Tourism and Recreation.
The island was a buzz on Tuesday as crowds gathered to watch the show.
“I tried to get tickets in New York and couldn't so I am really excited. And you could not ask for better weather,” says one loyal fan.
While the event cost around a million dollars to put on, organizers say it was totally worth it. P.E.I. was in the top ten for a worldwide Google search earlier this week.
