Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

Jyll Colton, staff writer

November 6, 2010 — All the animal lovers out there should get excited, because it's that time of the year again. The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair has officially kicked off in the City of Toronto.

November is here and that means time to gear up for the famous Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

It's the largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition that the world has to offer and it takes place on the Exhibition grounds in downtown Toronto.

Hundreds of thousands of attendees come out annually to learn, play, and enjoy time with the various barnyard animals including horses, pigs and sheep. The super dog show, giant vegetable challenge, the royal horse show and journey to good health are just a few of the events you can check out when you visit the fair.

Now in its 88th year, the fair began on November 22, 1922. This one-of-a-kind event attracts hundreds of thousands of people, including breeders, growers and exhibitors.

The event runs until November 14th.
