Over 200 people have been left stranded after their homes were buried in over a metre of water.
One resident says, 'the flood happened so fast, that we did not have time to find shelter, water rushed in, we escaped to the first floor, we did not have food, wood, we couldn't go down.'
Although the waters are expected to recede in the next few days, several people have lost everything.
In the meantime, emergency workers are continuing their rescue efforts and are trying to keep the floodwaters from spreading any farther.
In some areas, local bridges were swept away and roads were damaged, making the rescue efforts nearly impossible.
