Snow hits the Sunny Island of Mallorca

March 11, 2010 — Snow covered a large part of the sunny Spanish island Mallorca Wednesday.

There doesn't seem to be any signs of spring in Spain right now.

Heavy snow blanketed the sunny island of Mallorca Wednesday.

And it was certainly a sight to see.

Both children and adults flocked to the streets to play with the unusual big snowflakes.

Temperatures are expected to warm up within the next few days. That along with the rain that's forecast for the island, should help to melt away the snow.

Spain isn't the only area that has been seeing a recent blast of winter.

France and Italy have both gotten their fair share of snow over the past couple of weeks.
