This system is just the latest to soak the east in a cool, wet spring some of The Weather Network's Facebook fans have dubbed “June-uary.”
Thunderstorms popped up across southern and central New Brunswick Sunday morning, scattering pea-sized hail in the Saint John area.
Parts of New Brunswick already got drenched on Saturday; Miramichi and Edmundston both received more than 30 mm of rain, while Caraquet received 50 mm.
Additional rainfall amounts of up to 30 mm were expected Sunday in places like Charlottetown and Sydney, with higher amounts forecasted for Labrador and western Newfoundland.
Environment Canada also issued wind warnings for western Newfoundland and Cape Breton, with gusts of more than 100 kilometres per hour expected in the Wreckhouse and Inverness areas.
