Top 10 videos of the week: February 25

February 25, 2011 — It's time for our weekly recap of the best videos from the past seven days. Take a look at the top ten videos that made the cut.

We get a lot of footage each week here at The Weather Network, so we decided to share our favourites with you. Here are the weather videos that had people talking in Canada and around the world this week.

  • #10 -- Northern China They’re seven feet tall, very rare and completely adorable. Twin male giraffes born in Northern China a few months ago were revealed to the world this week. Their mom looks very proud.
  • #9 -- Torbay, NL Last week’s Top 10 had a dog catching snowballs. This week, a dog is retrieving them in Torbay, NL. Wonder how he could see it amongst all that snow!
  • #8 -- Colwood, BC On the other side of the country, we think these dogs and their owners were having way more fun in the snow in Colwood, BC.
  • #7 -- Sault Ste Marie, Ont. Strong winds battered much of Ontario last weekend into the beginning of this week. Viewer video from Sault Ste. Marie captures just how raw the winds were.
  • #6 -- Edmonton, Alta. Speaking of cold, wind chill values touched into the -30's and -40's at times this week. People in Edmonton just bundled up and dealt with it the best they could.
  • #5 -- Calgary, Alta. The Heritage Classic took place this week in Calgary. Players and fans alike did their best to keep warm in the chilly air.
  • #4 -- Calgary, Alta. Mike Cammalleri of the Montreal Canadiens tried his hand at forecasting.
  • #3 -- Braunlage, Germany Clearly Germans embrace winter. Why else would they hop on a sled and race down a hill…in their underwear?
  • #2 -- St. Louis, Mo. A frightening morning commute as ice coated a major highway in St. Louis, Missouri. At least 31 vehicles were involved.
  • #1 -- Christchurch, NZ. A magnitude 6.3 aftershock shook Christchurch, New Zealand to its core. The rescue and recovery efforts continue. The damage has been extensive.

Those are videos ten through one for this week. Don't forget to tune in to The Weather Network on TV every Friday morning for our weekly roundup of the top weather videos of the week.
