Top 10 videos of the week: March 4

March 4, 2011 — It's time for our weekly recap of the best videos from the past seven days. Take a look at the top ten videos that made the cut.

We get a lot of footage each week here at The Weather Network, so we decided to share our favourites with you. Here are the weather videos that had people talking in Canada and around the world this week.

  • #10 -- Dartmouth, NS. This is 2 year old Niamh (pronounced “Neeve”) enjoying the day on a vintage sled. We love her cute sunglasses too.
  • #9 -- Matador, Texas. Massive wildfires ripped through parts of Texas on Monday (February 28), scorching nearly 88,000 acres and destroying 58 homes.
  • #8 -- Vancouver, BC. La Nina has delivered a pretty snowy winter to Metro Vancouver this year. People were forced to bundle up and also ran into problems on the roads.
  • #7 -- Eastend, Sask. It’s been so cold in much of the Prairies this week. Wind chills have been brutal and this scene shot by a viewer illustrates that perfectly.
  • #6 -- St. George’s, NL. It looks equally as cold in Newfoundland as this viewer contribution shows.
  • #5 -- Cookstown, Ont. A narrow band of squalls this week on Highway 400 reduced visibility to zero. Calls to insurance companies were made afterwards and lots of damage was reported.
  • #4 -- Moncton, NB. We keep asking the question, where is all the snow being put in parts of the Maritimes. Take a look at these incredibly huge banks.
  • #3 -- La Paz, Bolivia. We’ve been following the devastating floods in Bolivia all week. Entire villages have been erased from the landscape and the mudslides aren’t letting up any time soon.
  • #2 -- Ingalls, Ind. and Eminence, Ky. In the town of Ingalls, Indiana, high winds flattened several houses and blew the roofs off others. An early morning tornado caused this damage in Kentucky.
  • #1 -- Sao Paulo, Brazil. Brazilian soccer fans took advantage of the torrential rains that flooded a soccer stadium in Sao Paulo's to practice their swimming skills among the bleachers.

Those are videos ten through one for this week. Don't forget to tune in to The Weather Network on TV every Friday morning for our weekly roundup of the top weather videos of the week.
