Top 10 videos of the week: November 19

November 19, 2010 — Time for our weekly recap of the best videos from the past seven days. Take a look at the top ten videos that made the cut.

We get a lot of footage each week here at The Weather Network, so we decided to share our favourites with you. Here are the weather videos that had people talking in Canada and around the world this week.

  • #10 -- Sandstorm hits Northern China. Cities were covered in unhealthy dust and girt earlier this week, thanks to strong winds. The storm is also being blamed on cold weather and a lack of rain.
  • #9 -- Beach weather in Tel Aviv, Israel. It may be winter in Europe, but unseasonal heat and 30C temperatures pushed into Israel over the weekend, and that sent people flocking to the nearest beach to cool down.
  • #8 -- Skating in North Vancouver, BC. Winter has arrived at Grouse Mountain with the opening of Vancouver's only outdoor mountaintop ice skating pond this week. The ski season can't be far behind!
  • #7 -- Thick fog in Mississauga, Ontario. It almost looks like something out of a horror movie! Fog blanketed many parts of Ontario over the weekend, making for poor visibility on roadways.
  • #6 -- Heavy rain in Toronto, Ontario. Talk about a drenching! For the first time since mid-September, the city got a good soaking of rain this week.
  • #5 -- Snowstorm in the United States. A treacherous blast of winter resulted in more than 25 cm of snow falling in parts of Minnesota last weekend. More than 400 traffic-related incidents were reported. Thousands were left without power.
  • #4 -- Dog plays in the snow in Calgary, Alberta. Bandit the dog may have liked the early taste of winter, but he wasn't quite so keen on his new boots!
  • #3 -- Snow in North Bay, Ontario. Just in time for the morning rush! Snow blanketed homes, roads and cars mid-week. A preview of what's to come this winter.
  • #2 -- Reporter almost gets blown over in Toronto, Ontario. Kelly Noseworthy was out covering the vicious winds in the GTA this week when a powerful gust nearly swept her right off her feet!
  • And finally, #1 -- Winter arrives in Calgary, Alberta. Not one, but two storms pummelled the city this week, leaving some areas looking like a winter wonderland.
  • Those are videos ten through one for this week. Don't forget to tune into The Weather Network on TV every Friday morning for our weekly roundup of the top weather videos of the week.
