Top 10 videos of the week: November 25

November 25, 2011 — It's time for our weekly recap of the best videos from the past seven days. Take a look at the top ten videos that made the cut.

We get a lot of footage each week here at The Weather Network, so we decided to share our favourites with you. Here are the weather videos that had people talking in Canada and around the world this week.

  • #10 -- Northern China. Many people run 5 km races, but how many camels have done so? Here’s 555 of them in Northern China and they broke the world record for largest camel race. Wonder what they did for a post-race stretch?
  • #9 -- Toronto, ON. No camels pulling Santa’s sleigh. Toronto stuck to the usual reindeer motif. No snow and mild temperatures made for pleasant viewing experience at the 107th annual parade.
  • #8 -- Paris, France. The holiday fever is spreading around the world. Check out how Paris lights up the iconic Champ Elysees and Arc de Triomphe in a futuristic inspired display.
  • #7-- San Pedro, California. 10 cm a day. That’s how much this road in California was spreading apart until heavy rains last weekend caused it to collapse. A gaping hole almost 300 metres long was left in the cliffside.
  • #6 -- Near Bradford, ON. Lake effect snow caught some drivers off guard and the Highway 400 guardrail was the victim. Traffic was backed up for hours.
  • #5 -- Waterloo, ON. Stormwatch coverage this week started with the threat of freezing rain in southern Ontario. Ice covered signs and roads and a few people ended up in fender-benders.
  • #4 -- Moncton, NB. That same system cooled down once it hit the Maritimes and left behind 30 cm of snow in some places. Time to break out the snowbrush and shovels.
  • #3 -- Old Perlican, NL. Then there’s the fun side of winter. Schools were cancelled in many areas of Newfoundland sending kids and their best friends outside to play in the snow.
  • #2 -- Tauranga, New Zealand. After being covered in oil from a grounded cargo ship, 49 little Blue Penguins were cleaned up and released back into the wild this week.
  • #1 -- Edmonton, AB. How do you make the top video of the week? Here’s how. Zac got creative, strapped a camera onto a snowboard and gave us a view like no other. Great job Zac!

Those are videos ten through one for this week. Don't forget to tune in to The Weather Network on TV every Friday morning for our weekly roundup of the top weather videos of the week.
