Top 10 videos of the week: October 21

October 21, 2011 — It's time for our weekly recap of the best videos from the past seven days. Take a look at the top ten videos that made the cut.

We get a lot of footage each week here at The Weather Network, so we decided to share our favourites with you. Here are the weather videos that had people talking in Canada and around the world this week.

  • #10 -- Rome, Italy. Italyís capital city looked a little more like Venice this week as floods submerged cars and brought the transit system to a standstill.
  • #9 -- Northern Territory, Australia. This yearís 3000 kilometre solar car race Down Under had a couple speed bumps along the way. Brush fires stopped the race as one point. The team from Japan ended up winning.
  • #8 -- Northeastern China. If the Outback heat isnít your speed, how about some snow? The leaves hadnít even fallen before heavy snow blanketed the landscape in parts of China. Most people didnít mind. They were out taking photos of the winter wonderland!
  • #7 -- Cancun, Mexico. Ulises sent us this video from Cancun. Heavy rain and strong wind led to flooding and beach erosion. Schools in the area were closed for at least 3 days.
  • #6 -- Ayutthaya, Thailand. Thailandís flood misery continues not just for residents, but for animals as well. At least 100 elephants have been evacuated from the ancient city.
  • #5 -- Oakville, ON.Carrie and Emily did their part for Mutt Strutt in the cold and rain - but it was Emilyís golden doodle Roxy who really stole the show!
  • #4 -- Barranquillia, Colombia. Check out these cars washing away in Colombia over the weekend. The rainy season started in September and will run until December.
  • #3 -- Moncton, NB. The commute for some people in Moncton wasn't exactly a picnic earlier this week.
  • #2 -- Burlington, ON. The same system that flooded parts of the Maritimes also affected Southern Ontario. Our Stormhunter Mark Robinson was literally was in the thick of things.
  • #1 -- Lubbock, Texas. If you see a wall of sand coming towards you at highway speeds, take cover!

Those are videos ten through one for this week. Don't forget to tune in to The Weather Network on TV every Friday morning for our weekly roundup of the top weather videos of the week.
