September 30, 2011 — It's time for our weekly recap of the best videos from the past seven days. Take a look at the top ten videos that made the cut.

We get a lot of footage each week here at The Weather Network, so we decided to share our favourites with you. Here are the weather videos that had people talking in Canada and around the world this week.

  • #10 -- Burlington, ON. Michele in Burlington, Ontario says that this squirrel is a frequent visitor to the backyard and he just loves peanuts.
  • #9 -- Washington, DC. From up close and personal to really far and away! Crews were rappelling down the Washington monument checking the damage from an earthquake on August 23. The obelisk is 169 metres tall. 555.5 ft).
  • #8 -- Salina Cruz, Mexico. School children in Mexico were lucky enough to help these rescued baby Olive Ridley turtles head out to sea this week. 12,000 turtles are expected to be released by the end of the year.
  • #7 -- West Sussex, England. At this time of year, most people are putting away their lawn and garden tools -- not these lawn mower racers. Conditions were perfect this year in West Sussex, England for the 12 hour marathon. The blades were removed for obvious reasons.
  • #6 -- Hunan Province, China. After heavy fog cleared, stuntman Jeb Corliss amazed spectators by zooming along in his wingsuit at speeds around 120 km/h through some beautiful Chinese scenery.
  • #5 -- Bella Coola, BC. Flood concerns throughout parts of BCís Central Coast were easing last weekend after heavy rain caused several rivers and streams to swell. Residents of about 50 homes along the banks of the Bella Coola River were told they could return home after being asked to leave.
  • #4 -- West Vancouver, BC. Strong gusts blew down trees and power lines early this week in West Vancouver, BC. At the same time, winds along Vancouver Island were clocked at well over 150 km/h.
  • #3 -- Rize Province, Turkey. Floods and mudslides hit the north-eastern Turkish province of Rize. More than 200 homes were flooded, forcing the evacuation of 250 people. Some were plucked to safety by helicopter from rural areas.
  • #2 -- Northern Japan. Typhoon Nesat slammed into the capital of the Phillippines this week. Itís expected to be the strongest storm of the season. At times, winds gusts have been recorded at 200 km/h.
  • #1 -- Milwaukee, Wisconcin. A rare sight caught on a security camera last weekend. Check out this time lapse video of a water spout over Lake Michigan, near Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
